AgriSync, paper or a spreadsheet: which suits your SFI records?
Paper and spreadsheets both work for SFI records. Many farmers start there. An app adds a few things they can't do. Each photo saves its own date and place. It is filed under the right field. You get a list of what is missing, and one PDF for an inspector. Many farmers use both.

When is paper or a spreadsheet enough?
If you have a few fields and a simple agreement, a notebook or a spreadsheet can be enough. Write down each action, the date and the field. Keep your invoices. Take dated photos and file them by field.
An app helps most when the photos pile up. It saves you sorting them on the laptop later. It also helps when other people take photos for you, or your adviser needs to see your records.
Can I use AgriSync alongside my spreadsheet?
Yes. Keep your spreadsheet for notes and costs. Use AgriSync for field photos, the to-do list and the audit PDF. You can also add PDFs, like invoices, to a field. See how AgriSync works and what SFI evidence to keep.
Common questions
Is a farm app better than a spreadsheet for SFI records?
A spreadsheet is a good start for writing down actions and dates. An app adds what a spreadsheet can't. Photos save their own date and place. They are filed under the right field. You get a to-do list of gaps and one PDF for an inspector. Many farmers use both.
What evidence do I need to keep for SFI?
For SFI26, gov.uk lists records of field work for each field, with invoices, photos and other papers that show you did each action. You also need proof that you control the land. Keep it for at least 7 years from the end of your agreement. Show it if the RPA asks. See what evidence to keep.
Is there a free farm app in the UK?
Yes. AgriSync is free during early access for farms in England. You don't need a card, and there is no limit on farm size. If we bring in paid plans, we will tell you well in advance. You will only pay if you choose a plan.
Can I take SFI photos with no phone signal?
Yes, with the AgriSync Android app. With no signal, the photo is saved on your phone with the time and place you took it. It uploads to the right field by itself when you are back in signal. Farms and fields you have already opened still show. Crop checks and scores need signal.
