In short

Get the app
Free. Version 2.3.1, 94.3 MB. Works on Android 7.0 or newer. Use Wi-Fi if you can.
- Coming soon to Google Play
- Coming soon to the App Store
What you need
- An Android phone with Android 7.0 or newer. To check, open Settings, then About phone (on Samsung: Software information), and look for Android version
- An AgriSync account (create one free (opens in a new tab))
- About 250 MB of free space. The download is 94.3 MB, so use Wi-Fi if you can
Steps
- 1
Download the app
On your Android phone, tap Download the Android app on this page. Or open agrisync.co.uk/dl/agrisync-farmer-latest.apk (opens in a new tab) in your browser. On a computer? Point your phone's camera at the code on this page. Only download AgriSync from agrisync.co.uk. If Chrome asks if you want to keep the file, tap Download anyway.
- 2
Open the file
When the download ends, tap Open. Or open the Files app (on Samsung: My Files), tap Downloads, then tap the AgriSync file.
- 3
Allow the install
The first time, Android may say your phone isn't allowed to install unknown apps from this source. Tap Settings. Turn on Allow from this source. Then tap the back arrow. You only allow the app you used, such as Chrome or Files.
- 4
Tap Install
Tap Install. Google Play Protect may warn you about an app it doesn't know. On most phones, tap More details, then Install anyway. If it offers to scan the app first, you can tap Scan app and wait.
- 5
Open AgriSync and sign in
When it says App installed, tap Open. Sign in with the same email and password as on the web app.
- 6
Turn the setting off again
This step is optional but safer. Open Settings, then Apps, then Special app access, then Install unknown apps. Tap Chrome or Files. Turn Allow from this source off.
What if it won't install?
Find the message your phone shows. Then try the fix under it. Most problems take a minute to fix.
"App not installed", "package appears to be invalid" or "conflicts with an existing package"
This usually means an older AgriSync is already on your phone. Some very early test copies can't be updated. Remove the old one first: open Settings, then Apps (on some phones App management or Manage apps), tap AgriSync, then Uninstall. Then download the app again and install it. Your farm records are safe on our servers. Photos still waiting to upload in the old app will be lost, so send them first if you can.
Still the same message? Delete the downloaded file and download it again on Wi-Fi. A download that stopped half way can't install.
"Your phone isn't allowed to install unknown apps from this source"
Tap Settings on that message. Turn on Allow from this source. Go back and tap Install. No Settings button? Open Settings, then Apps, then Special app access, then Install unknown apps. Tap the app you downloaded with (Chrome or Files) and turn on Allow from this source.
Play Protect: "Blocked by Play Protect" or "unknown app"
Play Protect checks apps that don't come from Google Play. It doesn't know AgriSync yet because we are not on Google Play yet. Tap More details (or the small arrow), then Install anyway. If you only see OK, tap it and try again. Then look for More details.
"Not enough space" or "There isn't enough storage"
You need about 250 MB free. Delete old videos, or apps you don't use. Then try again. Open Settings, then Storage to see what's using space.
"There was a problem parsing the package"
Your phone may be older than Android 7.0, and the app can't run on it. Or the download didn't finish. Check your Android version in Settings, then About phone. If it is 7.0 or newer, download the file again on Wi-Fi. If it is older, use the web app at app.agrisync.co.uk in your phone's browser.
Help for your make of phone
Each phone maker words the menus a little differently. If you can't find a setting, use the search box at the top of Settings. Type unknown apps.
| Phone make | Remove the old AgriSync | Allow the install | Also check |
|---|---|---|---|
| Samsung (Galaxy) | Settings → Apps → AgriSync → Uninstall | Settings → Apps → ⋮ (top right) → Special access → Install unknown apps | Newer Galaxy phones have Auto Blocker (Settings → Security and privacy). If it is on, it blocks apps from outside the store. Turn it off while you install, then turn it back on. |
| Xiaomi, Redmi, POCO | Settings → Apps → Manage apps → AgriSync → Uninstall | Settings → Privacy protection (or Apps) → Special permissions → Install unknown apps | Xiaomi may run its own security check first. Wait for it to finish, then tap Continue or Install. |
| OPPO, realme, OnePlus | Settings → Apps → App management → AgriSync → Uninstall | Settings → Privacy or Security → Install unknown apps | If the phone says package appears to be invalid, remove the old AgriSync first. Search Settings for Enhanced protection or Pure mode. If one is on, turn it off while you install, then back on. |
| Tecno, Infinix, itel | Settings → Apps (or App management) → AgriSync → Uninstall | Settings → Apps → Special app access → Install unknown apps | If the phone says package appears to be invalid, remove the old AgriSync first. If Phone Master shows a warning, look for an option to install anyway. |
| Huawei, Honor | Settings → Apps → Apps → AgriSync → Uninstall | Settings → Security → More settings → Install apps from external sources | Search Settings for Pure mode. If it is on, turn it off while you install. Newer Huawei phones don't have Google apps. We haven't tested AgriSync on those yet. |
| Google Pixel, Motorola, Nokia and most others | Settings → Apps → AgriSync → Uninstall | Settings → Apps → Special app access → Install unknown apps | Nothing else, as a rule. |
Is there a smaller download?
Yes. The main download works on every phone that can run AgriSync. It is 94.3 MB because it holds the app for every kind of phone. If your signal is slow, these smaller files hold one kind each. If one says App not installed, your phone needs the other one, or the main download.
- 64-bit phones (most newer phones) (opens in a new tab): 34.7 MB
- 32-bit phones (some older and low-cost phones) (opens in a new tab): 31.1 MB
All of them are the same app and the same version. You can switch between them without removing the app.
What does the Android app do?
- For farmers: shows your farms and fields, crop monitoring, your SFI to-do list and your photos.
- Lets you take a photo on a field's page, or pick one from your gallery. It is saved to that field as proof.
- Works without signal in the field. It shows the farms and fields it has already loaded ("Offline — showing saved data"). It keeps the photos you take on the phone, with the place you took them. When you're back in signal, it uploads them on its own. Or press Try now.
- For advisers: shows the farms that farmers have shared with you. You can look at crop results and leave notes, and ask a farmer for access.
- For hauliers: shows loads that farmers have posted and are waiting to be moved, and your business details.
The app is one part of AgriSync. You also get the web app on a computer and our UK team on phone and email. See the AgriSync app for the full picture.
Is there an iPhone app?
Not yet. The iPhone app is coming soon. The Android app isn't on Google Play yet either. On an iPhone, use the AgriSync web app in Safari at app.agrisync.co.uk. Take photo works there too and can use your phone's location. But you need signal to upload. See take an evidence photo.
Why are there no screenshots of the install?
The install screens belong to Android. They look different on each make of phone. So we describe them, rather than show one that may not match yours.
Common questions
Is it safe to install an app from outside the Play Store?
Only install apps from places you trust. Download AgriSync only from agrisync.co.uk. Turn "Allow from this source" off again after you install it.
Which version is the current one?
The download link always gives you the latest version. In the app, open Settings to see which version you have.
Can I use AgriSync without the app?
Yes. The AgriSync web app works in any phone or computer browser at app.agrisync.co.uk. Only saving photos with no signal needs the Android app.
